Has Sin Ruined America?

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Ezekiel 18:30 KJV

Sin is a reproach to all people. No matter where it is found, it has been the ruin of all great nations. Righteousness exalts a nation. When a nation is following the Bible and God, it will be blessed.

Our nation has been blessed by God because of our national desire for God. We are now under the curse and judgement of Holy God.

The housing crisis, recession, terrorist attacks and a famine of hearing the Word of God is judgement on America.

This nation will never find her way back economically until we have national repentance.

I truly believe we are dealing with the symptoms instead of the problem. God is judging America for many sins. Gay marriage, abortion, gambling, alcohol, pornography, churches that have departed from the truth - to name a few. Our text verse promises first that God will judge. The modern-day preacher says much about love and that is good. However we must be balanced and preach also the judgement of God.

God is now judging America. Next our verse says everyone will be judged. From the crooked politicians to the carnal preachers. We all will be judged by God for our sin. Some think because God has not yet dealt with their sin, He has lost track of it. Be sure your sin will find you out.

Nobody gets by God. The only hope we have is found in the last part of our text. Repent and turn. Oh God, help us individually and as a nation to repent and turn. I believe we have gone too far as a nation, but individually we can repent and turn from sin.

Sin will be our ruin.
